Charity was formerly an archon for Tremere Justicar Karl Shrekt. After the death of Octavius in 1998, the Malkavian Clan attempted to vote in Octavius's Chief Archon, Algernon Bayard. However, it was later learned that a majority of the Inner Circle settled on Charity Caize for Malkavian Justicar.

The Malkavians technically had no current Justicar as of the year 2001, but when the Inner Circle met in 2002 they formalized their decision to appoint Charity Caize.

Charity Caize is an International Justicar with no home territory. She travels from nation to nation. She and Justicar Demetrius planned the attack against Mexico City with help from some military consultants (known to some as the Tal'mahe'Ra).
