Karl is a Tremere of great power and many connections in the scientific community, as well as in the government and organized crime syndicates. He is believed to be very stubborn, militant, and merciless. He lives in a castle in Germany.

Karl has dozens of powerful archons from several clans. In the previous timeline, Karl Shrekt was killed in 1995 by Vail, afterwhich Gabriel became the new Tremere Justicar. However, in this new timeline, Vail never killed Karl -- so he is still the Justicar.
