Blake was Toreador primogen of Seattle from 1995 until 2009 while his sire, Theodora, was prince of the city. In 2008, at the height of the world war, Theodora decided to leave Seattle and take up arms in the Jyhad in order to protect her interests in the eastern states and in Europe. Six months later, Blake Laren announced Theodora would not be coming back and that he would be Prince of Seattle.

Since then, Blake has lead well in the eyes of most of the city's Kindred. He has earned the respect of the clans and united them against the Anarchs.

Most Kindred consider Blake's personality to be that of an entrepreneur, an old fashioned pioneer -- an architect who wants to create something lasting value for the Kindred of Seattle. To make this all happen and to ensure the prosperity of the Kindred and his vision, he strictly enforces the Traditions. Blake exercises great restraint and self control, and he listens intently before making decisions. Few have ever witnessed him act on his anger or emotions; he is a creature of logic.
