Background

The vampiric community in Seattle has been unstable and warlike for half a century. In fact, it is a miracle the masquerade has been maintained successfully. The main conflict is between the Camarilla and Anarchs. Despite the Camarilla's efforts to hold onto the pacific northwest, they have been unable to drive out the stubborn Anarchs.

Not all of the conflict has been Anarch related. Internal conflict among the local Camarilla has been fierce until recently. The former Prince of Seattle, a Toreador named Anson, was overthrown in 1991 by a vampire rebellion that claimed the unlives of a dozen Kindred. The Tremere who planned the rebellion ruled the city for a short time afterward, but he too was overthrown in 1994 when Anson's sire, Theodora, came to the Emerald City and claimed it for herself. For fourteen years Theodora ruled as Prince of Seattle, with her progeny Blake Laren serving as Primogen.

In 2008, at the height of the world war, Theodora decided to leave Seattle and take up arms in the Jyhad in order to protect her interests in the eastern states and in Europe. Six months later, Blake Laren announced Theodora would not be coming back and that he would be Prince of Seattle.

Since then, Blake has lead well, earning the respect of the clans and uniting them against the Anarchs.
